I plugged in my USB drive and was mildly concerned to see some suspicious looking files nestling in the root directory. They are Z2_P_FRE.EXE, Z2_ANFRE.EXE and 8820inst.EXE. They all appear to be archives and the copyright details of the File Properties settings display “(C) A.I. Soft.inc 1996-2001″. A brief spot of googling returns no search results on them, but since I don’t remember putting them there, I assume they’re evil and up to no good.
Part of me wants to open them to see what will happen, and the other part is jumping up and down and shouting “Don’t do it you fool, delete them and run all the scanners and anti-virus programs you have!” And that is what I shall do.
Find out how to do the above here. Splendid.
Apparently, it’s a known bug whereby DTS truncates delimited columns at 255 characters when exporting to a text file. A work around can be found here.
Are you unable to add a SharePoint server as a network location on Windows Vista Home Premium (and probably the rest of the Vista family)? Apparently, it’s a known problem and you’ll need to download Software Update For Web Folders (KB907306) to fix the problem.
I’m not just about being evil – I want to help you as well. And then kill you.
